Interfaces and API development: connect programs so nobody retypes data
An order in the shop, an appointment in the calendar, an invoice in the accounts: often someone types the same data into several programs. An interface (API) lets the programs talk to each other directly. We build connections to existing systems or a custom API for your application.
Overview
Interfaces and API development
We connect your website, shop, booking, accounting and other programs so that data flows by itself to where you need it.
Who it is for
- Shops that are to be connected to inventory, shipping or accounting
- Companies with their own software that want to connect a website or an app
- Businesses that move data by hand from one program to another
What is included
A review: which programs, which data, in which direction
Connection to existing interfaces, for example from Shopify, WooCommerce, Stripe or Google
A custom API for your application, with a description to read up on
Secure login and access rights
An error log and an alert when a connection fails
Testing with real sample data before launch
Written fixed-price offer before we start, payment only after approval
We check first whether it works
Not every program has an interface, and some are limited or chargeable. We clarify that before the offer and say openly if a connection does not make sense.
Secure and traceable
Access credentials do not belong in the source code. We store them protected, grant only the rights that are needed and keep a log of which data was transferred and when.
How it works
We begin with the review of what exists: which programs are involved, which data flows in which direction, and which interfaces do the providers offer? This usually takes two to three working days. Then we draw the data flow and show it to you. After that we build a prototype with test data for you to try out. Only after your approval do we finish the connection, test it with real examples and switch it on. In the first days afterwards we watch the transfer. Altogether this usually takes ten to twenty working days, depending on the number of programs and the quality of their interfaces. That is a guide value, not a promise.
How you measure success
Measure what the connection really does. The log shows what share of the records was transferred successfully and which errors occurred. You also find the response time there. In addition, check a sample by hand: do orders or invoices in the shop and in the other program match? Repeat the sample check several times in the first weeks. Work out how many minutes per week you used to spend on typing and how many you spend now. That shows you the benefit in your own working time. An error-free connection we cannot promise, because providers change their programs and sometimes fail. That is why a message goes out when a connection fails.

Frequently asked questions
What is an API?
An interface through which one program sends data or commands to another, for example: the shop reports a new order to the accounts.
What if the provider changes its interface?
That happens. We build the connection so that adjustments stay manageable. If you do not want to keep an eye on this yourself, we take over the upkeep under a written agreement.
What must I have ready for the review?
A list of the programs to be connected and an access we may use for the tests, preferably a test account instead of your real data. Also the name of a person who knows the processes and can answer questions. We read the providers’ documentation ourselves and tell you if an interface is missing or restricted.
What happens to the data if the connection fails?
An error is recorded in the log, and a message goes by email to the agreed address. We build the connection so that failed transfers are tried again. Whether every record can be transferred later depends on the provider’s program. We clarify that in the prototype and write it into the description, so that you know what you can count on.
What does an interface cost?
That depends on the programs and the amount of data. You receive a written fixed-price offer before we start, payment only after approval.
